This was contained in a press release signed by Jeff Mbah, Chairman House Committee on Information and communication, dated 20th June 2020.
Mbah described the late lawmaker as, “one of the rallying points of the fresh members of the Seventh Assembly, an astute politician, a team player, a kind-hearted brilliant and vibrant young man with great leadership potentials”.
Chijioke Ugwueze until his demise was the Chairman Committee on Transport, Intergovernmental and Housing services.
“Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the Ugwueze family, the wife and children, the people of Isi-Uzo Constituency, all our distinguished colleagues in Enugu State House of Assembly and Enugu State Government for this irreparable loss”.
The Chairman House Committee on Information and Communication further revealed that in line with the Speaker’s order, the Enugu State House of Assembly Complex has been shut down for immediate decontamination.
“All activities within the complex are hereby suspended till further notice,” Mbah said.
The decision to shut down the complex is to thread on the side of caution while the cause of the lawmaker’s death is ascertained,” Mbah further explained.
