The Enugu State Government on Wednesday constituted a nine-man ad hoc committee to identify all properties belonging to the State Government all over the nation.
In a statement released by Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, Secretary to the State Government, the 9-man ad hoc committee in addition to identifying all the State Government’s properties will also determine status of such properties and the level of compliance to the monetization policy of the properties.
“Identify all Enugu State Government landed properties in and out of the state; verify the claims of individuals or corporate bodies on Enugu State Government properties; identify the level of indebtedness of individuals and corporate bodies to Enugu State Government with respect to government’s landed property allocations; and make further findings and/or recommendations that are reasonably incidental to the attainment of the above objectives,” the statement reads.
Chairman of the ad hoc committee is Prof. Malachy Okwueze, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Other members include: Mr. Livinus Okoro (Auditor-General, Enugu State); Charles Chuks Ngene (Deputy Director, Town Planning); Dennis N. Ezema; Kingsley Chime and Chief Jeff Ogbodo; Joshua Udeh, Ebuka Odoh; Okeke Onuora Monday, (SA to the Governor, SSG’s Office)
Okeke Onuorah was appointed as the Secretary of the committee and the committee expected to complete its assignment within two months.
