The havoc caused by Boko Haram insurgents in Northeast Nigeria has affected all sectors of human strata, and Adamawa State Government has tightened its belt to revive the education sector with the release of one point five billion naira (N1.5 b) to the Adamawa state Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB).
Dr. Salihi Ateequ, Executive Chairman of the Board who disclosed this to Journalists in his office in Yola said Adamawa state is prepared to provide protection quality education at all levels of learning.
“The level of Education has declined in Adamawa state and other parts of North East due to attack by Boko Haram insurgents, Bandit’s and other forms of criminal activities and has negatively affected the educational sector in the state. “Almost five to seven local governments were affected by the Insurgents, which has forced thousands of school children out of school, many teachers been killed, others abducted, rendering many homeless”. He added
Ateequ further said the building of new classroom blocks, renovations of structures, sinking of boreholes, and fencing of schools across the twenty-one local government in the state as soon as funds are received from other donors.
