Accidents and Safety3 Die,1 Injured On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash

SANGO-OTA (Ogun) — The Ogun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) said on Friday that three persons died in an accident that involved four vehicles near Danco Filling Station on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr. Ahmed Umar, told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Ota, Ogun, that one other person sustained injuries while others were unhurt.
Umar said that the accident, which occurred at about 5 22 a.m., involved four vehicles, an Iveco truck with registration number SSU517XA, a Man diesel container, marked T 8493 LA, while two other vehicles had no registration number.
The sector commander said that one of the vehicles lost control due to excessive speeding and rammed into the other three vehicles.
He said that nine male adults were involved in the unfortunate incident in which three male adults died, one other sustained various degrees of injuries, while others were unhurt.
“The corpses of the dead have deposited at the morgue of Idera Hospital, Sagamu, while the injured victims refused to be taken to the hospital,” he said.
Umar said that the clearing of obstruction was ongoing by FRSC personnel and other sister agencies to ease the free flow of traffic on the express.
The FRSC boss cautioned motorists against speed violation and advised the use of the common sense speed limit when visibility is poor to avoid unnecessary loss of life. (NAN)
