ENUGU — The Enugu State Government has declared Wednesday, 23rd of February, 2022 a work-free day statewide; this is to enable the residents to participate in the local government elections.
All markets, business premises, and offices should be closed down to business on Wednesday while the movement of persons and vehicles is restricted from 8am to 4pm with the exception of personnel on essential duties.
The statement was issued by Barr. Steve Oruruo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information.
The statement further reads, “All residents legally qualified to vote are therefore encouraged to go to the polls and cast their ballots”.
“The State Government, in its unflinching commitment to safeguarding and strengthening our democracy, has made requisite arrangements to guarantee a hitch-free process”.
