President Bola Tinubu has expressed hope that Nigeria will see positive changes even as the nation goes through “baby steps of pain.”
The President spoke on Thursday when he visited the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said the visit was to redeem the pledge he made to the King “that I will come back with victory and the crown.”
President Tinubu expressed his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, noting that “the hope is here.”
The President said, “The hope is recharged; the hope is here. That hope will never fail. That hope will recharge your lives in a positive manner.
“By the grace of Almighty God, we shall reap the fruits of our labour, Nigeria will see positive change, just endure these baby steps of pain.”
Yesterday, President Tinubu paid a thank-you visit to the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in Ijebu-Ode and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta.
Describing his visit as a homecoming, the President saluted the monarchs and party stakeholders for delivering Ogun State for him in the last presidential election despite the ‘no money, no fuel’ challenge that erupted weeks before the February 25, 2023 poll.
“I am grateful. At least, we delivered despite the hardship of no money, no fuel. I credit you. Thank you,” he said.
He also sought prayers from the people of Ogun State to steer the ship of Nigeria aright and to deliver on all the promises he made to ensure progress and stability in the country.
The monarchs, in separate remarks in their palaces, commended President Tinubu for starting his administration exceptionally well, urging Nigerians to support his promising administration.
