President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration’s policies are in the best interest of every Nigerian.
“Our policies are for the people, not to punish the people,” the President said at the 12th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Thursday in Abuja.
Since he assumed office on May 29, President Tinubu has taken several policies that have been dubbed ‘anti-masses’ and heavily criticised by many Nigerians.
Some of the policies include the unification of exchange rate and the removal of petrol subsidy which has resulted in the high price of commodities and transportation.
While admitting that Nigeria is in the throes of hardship, President Tinubu said he will tackle the issues ‘squarely’ to favour the common man.
“Nigeria is going through some issues and I have sufficiently addressed it in my broadcast,” he said.
“We will face it squarely to re-engineer the economy of this country. We must find a way to satisfy the yearnings of the common man and we must ensure that all the policies we roll out work for the common man.”
