John Ikechukwu Okafor, the Nollywood actor popularly known as Mr Ibu, is dead. The veteran actor died on Saturday, according to Emeka Rollas, the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.
Rollas said Okafor suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Saturday. He was rushed to the hospital where he died.
As of the time of the report, the family of Okafor has yet to release a formal statement, but tributes have started to pour in from the deceased’s colleagues in the movie industry.
The news of Okafor’s death comes a day after the demise of another popular actor, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri.
Oyebamiji died on Friday and was buried on Saturday in his hometown, Iwo, in Osun State.
