A frontline aspirant of the Labour Party, for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election has stepped up his bid for the ticket of Labour Party, with payment of the party’s local government offices in Anambra State.
Since the end of the 2023 General Election, Labour Party has been left floating and despite its many gains in Anambra State where its Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi comes from, the party has no real presence. As part of his response to this, John Nwosu, the CEO of Jetlinks, an aspirant on the party’s platform for the Anambra governorship, has supplied branded chairs and tables to the party LGA offices as well as paid for the 21 LGA offices of the party in Anambra State.

Speaking during his consultative outing at Idemili North and Idemili South on Sunday which marks the conclusion of this exercise, Mr. Nwosu said his decision to pay for the party offices is to give the party a base across the LGAs, in Anambra State. He also asked for the support of the party in the two LGAs to actualize his ambition of becoming the party’s candidate and possibly the next governor of Anambra State.
Mr. John Nwosu, who also mentioned that he studied Computer and Economics and has worked in the ICT sector for about 30 years, with branches of his company in Nigeria, Ghana, and Liberia, said that if elected, the first challenge he would deal with is insecurity. “The First challenge is insecurity. Without security, there won’t be investors. When elected, insecurity will be a thing of the past in six months,” he said.

Also, Mr. Nwosu mentioned his intention to adopt the Anambra Integrated Development Strategies – ANIDS, of Peter Obi’s administration. He committed to reviving ANIDS and “improving on it”. According to John Nwosu, his focus will also extend to agriculture, STEM education, and Health care.
While expressing disappointment in Soludo’s government as a major reason he is in the race, he commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia State and Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for demonstrating strong leadership ahead of Anambra’s Soludo.
John Nwosu was accompanied to the two local governments by Rt. Hon. Barr Benchuks Nwosu, His Honour, Oseloka Obaze, DIG Celestine Okoye, Ozo Emeka Anago, and Barr. Ifeanyi Mbanusi, LP stakeholder from Idemili North.
