Renowned Nigerian gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey is set to minister at the presidential inaugural prayer breakfast for Donald Trump in Washington DC.
Trump, who emerged victorious in the November 2024 United States presidential election, will be sworn in on 20th January 2025.
Bassey announced his participation in a social media post on Saturday, inviting believers to join in the spiritual event.
“Let us raise a sound in America and let the King of Glory come in. See you on 20th January 2025,” he wrote.
The US presidential inaugural prayer breakfast is a non-political, faith-based event held every four years before the swearing-in of a new administration. It focuses on prayers and worship as spiritual support for the US president and government.
“The presidential prayer breakfast is a non-official and non-governmental event. It is a faith-based platform where intercessory prayers and worship are offered to God on behalf of the office of the president and government of the nation,” Bassey stated.
The prayer breakfast is expected to gather religious leaders and representatives from across the globe as they intercede for the incoming Trump administration.
Nathaniel Bassey is the only Nigerian and African artist on the lineup.
