EducationNewsNigeriaOjukwu Varsity Set for a Joint Convocation, as it marks 25th Anniversary

All is now set for the joint convocation of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, for graduands of the university between 2019 and 2024. The event which stretches from the 10th to the 15th convocation, signals part of the effort by the current university management to reposition the institution as a model and modern citadel of learning.

Founded in the year 2000, exactly 25 years ago, Anambra State University, now Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, was established on ideals that reflect the hard work and embody the full spirit of Ndi Anambra.

The combined convocation and University’s 25th anniversary is expected to commence from 20th May and terminate on May 24th. However, a series of activities have been lined up as part of pre-convocation activities. From May 2nd, the university postgraduate graduates are expected to collect their gowns and other materials from the Igbariam campus of the university. These materials are to be returned to the university on 30th May, after the convocation.

However, by May 16th, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, would hold a press conference in the Vice Chancellor’s conference room and conduct a facility tour around the university. This will be followed the next day by a silver jubilee roadshow, just before the 20th of May when the convocation activities shall be in full gear. These activities will be wrapped up on Saturday, May 24, with an award of higher degrees and honourary doctorate degrees to deserving individuals.

The convocation activities and the 25th anniversary of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University have been carefully planned to reflect the three core mandates of the current University management which are values, viability, and visibility.
