A deadly explosion that struck Gwabro village in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State has killed at least six people.
Security analyst, Bakatsine, who posted on his X handle on Tuesday, said an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was believed to have been planted by the notorious Lakurawa gang.
Six confirmed dead in Gwabro village, Tangaza LGA of Sokoto, after an IED believed to have been planted by Lakurawa exploded. This gang has a track record of violence in the area,” Bakatsine wrote.
The Lakurawa group was alleged to be behind a series of kidnappings, extortion, and targeted attacks in the area.
No official statement regarding the blast from the government or security agencies as of the time of the report.
