The Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, UBRBDA, Yola, has assured contractors handling various projects of transparency and due process in awarding contracts.
Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed, Managing Director, Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Yola, gave the assurance during the opening of Technical bidding for 2025 that covers works, supply, and goods held at the conference hall of the Authority in Yola, Monday.
Represented by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Authority, Hon. Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo, explained that the bid opening is in line with the transparency of providing democracy dividends to the people under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
Dr. Mohammed pointed out that in every competition, there will be a winner and urged contractors who were unable to win not to be discouraged but to continue subscribing to the authority’s projects, as one day it will be their turn.
“We want as many people as possible; we want the best- as we execute these, more jobs will be advertised, so don’t be disappointed,” he said.
The Managing Director assured that with the present crop of management in the authority, the organization will witness tremendous achievements.
In a remark, Acting Head of Procurement of the Authority, Engr. Ernest I.Udoh said bids for 27 Lots were advertised in two National Dailies and the Federal Government Contract Journal in line with the procurement act.
He said 246 bidders purchased the forms and 213 submitted completed forms by noon on Monday official deadline for closing of submission.
He said the submitted documents would be scrutinized based on the revised documents for the award of contracts by the Bureau for Public Procurement, which will qualify contractors to the next stage.
Also speaking, the Head of the Legal Unit of the Authority, Barrister. Yakubu Gundiri urged the contractors to adhere strictly to the guidelines of signing the contract agreement with the Authority for seamless execution of contracts.
The representative of the Managing Director officially declared the bid opening, which was witnessed by the Deputy Director, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, Mr. Philip Oguche.
