The United States Embassy in Abuja is warning Nigerians of the serious consequences of visa fraud, stressing that falsifying information or submitting fake documents can result in permanent visa bans.
The Embassy gave the warning in a post on its verified X handle on Monday, when US Ambassador Richard Mills and Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar had a meeting, where they both discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries.
“Visa fraud has serious consequences. Lying or providing false documents can result in permanent visa bans under US immigration law. This means you will never go,” it said.
The discussions are taking place against the backdrop of the ongoing diplomatic attention to Nigeria’s internal security situation.
