In a surprise move as the year comes to a close, and as part of measures to restructure governance in Niger State, Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago has announced the sacking of all his special advisers.
Bago announced their termination of appointments during the maiden State Executive Council meeting with the newly sworn-in Commissioners in Minna, the capital of Niger State, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
He said the decision was aimed at rejigging the advisers’ portfolios to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in line with his New Niger Agenda.
Bago, while expressing appreciation to the affected advisers for their sacrifices and contributions to the success of his administration, wished them well in their future endeavours.
