The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, and 14 other lawmakers have resigned their membership from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The development came amidst rumours that, in the coming weeks, the Governor of the State, who was elected to two terms on the platform of the PDP, will quit the party and join the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley announced the names of the members during the Wednesday plenary session.
Those who renounced their membership of the party, include the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa (Jada- Mbulo), Kefas Calvin (Toungo), Bulus Geoffrey (Leko – Koma) and Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali).
