President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government remains committed to defeating terrorism and restoring security across the country.
In his Easter message, Akpabio called for unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, urging Christians to reflect on the values of the season.
“On behalf of my family, my constituents, the Senate, and the National Assembly, I extend my warmest Easter greetings to all Christians in Nigeria and around the world,” his statement reads.
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that His message embodies.”
Akpabio acknowledged the country’s security challenges but expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome them through collective effort.
“I want to assure Nigerians that we will overcome these difficulties through collective efforts, understanding and prayers. The President is not resting on his oars and the Armed Forces and all security agencies have been working relentlessly to tame the tide,” he stated.
The Senate President also sympathized with victims of recent attacks, particularly in Plateau State, saying, “I sympathize with families affected by the mindless attacks by terrorists and bandits across the country, especially the recent killings in Jos.”
He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to national unity.
