NewsNigeriaLawmaker Empowers Boko Haram Victims in Adamawa

Following devastation by Boko Haram insurgents in Madagali local government area of Adamawa state Northeast Nigeria that shares a border with Sambisa forest, the enclave of the insurgents located in Borno state, the Member representing the area in the State House of Assembly Mr. Haruna Jilantikiri, has distributed empowerment items to the electorates worth millions of naira.

The beneficiaries mainly youths and women received one hundred and twenty (120) sewing machines, ninety (90) Gasoline Power Generating Sets, and ninety (90) Super Power Clippers.

Speaking while distributing the items at Madagali Local Government Council’s Secretariat, Mr. Haruna Jilantikiri said the gesture is part of efforts towards empowering the electorates to become self-reliant.

I decided to contribute my own quota towards economically empowering youths and women whose business places were destroyed by the hoodlums, both the youths and women lost everything during the attacks and the items will go alone way in empowering them.

The beneficiaries mainly youths and women received one hundred and twenty (120) sewing machines.

The lawmaker thanked the people of Madagali Constituency for their support pledging to justify the confidence reposed on him by the electorates.

“Arrangements have been concluded with the Ministry of Water Resources to sink two boreholes in each of the ten political wards across Madagali Constituency to enable the inhabitants to have access to potable water supply”. Jilantikiri added The political wards include Palam, Madagali, Wula, Wagga, SS Vapra, Bebel, Hyambula, Kirchinga, Gulak, and Mayo Wandu.

In his message Speaker of the state House Aminu Iya Abbas who was represented by the Majority Leader, Alhaji. Hammantukur Yettisuri commended the member for the laudable empowerment program.

Also speaking, the Chairman Physically Challenged Persons, Madagali Local Government, Yakubu Hassan appeal to the House of Assembly to consider establishing a Commission for Physically Persons in the state.

In a remark, the Chairman Madagali Local Government Council, Mr. Aiden Tsukumu, called on the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the item to empower themselves economically.
