NewsNigeriaYEDC Disconnect Senator’s Personal Residence Over Bypass

The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has disconnected the personal residence of a Senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial zone in the National Assembly in the National Assembly for bypassing the connection.

Mohammed Gidado Abubakar Technical Engineer, Jada Business Unit of the company revealed this at a town hall meeting organized by the Centre for Women and Adolescent Empowerment, Yola in collaboration with Kwanan Kuka Community Development in Mayo-Belwa.

The town hall meeting which was held at Ibn Mas’ud Academy Mayo-Belwa was to address the collapse of five transformers of 500KVA each installed in the community within nine months.

According to Abubakar, it was a task force that carried out mass disconnection of defaulters last month; but apologized for the action.

On his part, Senator representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial zone, Senator Binos Yaroe who corroborated was furious about the action, explained that he had used his resources and purchased transformers of 500KVA for Kwanan Kuka in Mayo-Belwa LGA, a 300KVA generator for Balahu community in Jada LGA, supply another transformer for Borrong in Demsa LGA, and gave the distribution company N500, 000 to recoiling a faulty transformer at GSS Numan among others.

The senator stated that no matter the offense committed by those living in his house that should not warrant the action considering the huge amount he spent on transformers and donated to the company.
