The Special Adviser on Youths, to the governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, has commenced a mentorship session for Anambra youths. The maiden edition of the mentorship session has been scheduled to be held on Friday in Awka the state capital, and will feature Obinna Etele, Group Managing Director of Eteleson Industries Limited.

For the most part, Mr. Etele may be referred to as a born entrepreneur, having abandoned his medical studies at the University of Nigeria, choosing instead to study business. After studying business at Lincoln University in the UK, Mr. Obinna also studied diploma in law and later took an interest in ICT before returning to Nigeria in 2007. Since being on the saddle as the MD of Eteleson Group, a major manufacturing brand in Nigeria with offices across different parts of the country, Obinna has moved Eteleson to a new dimension in manufacturing and service delivery.

This maiden youth mentorship roundtable has been tagged “youth to youth” mentorship roundtable by Dr. Nelson Omenugha, Governor Soludo’s Adviser on youth, who is the convener of the programme.

The import of youth mentorship can hardly be overemphasized, especially given the high rising youth restiveness and moral decay, as well as quick money syndrome all of which have become a source of serious worry to government, organized groups, and individuals. Speaking about the programme, Dr. Omenugha hinted that his office intends to carry on with such an important event as a way of building synergy and network among youths of the state. According to Omenugha, it is also an avenue of erasing gaps, which often lead to assumptions that distract young people from focusing on their craft and enterprise, for optimum productivity.
