The re-run election conducted on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission – INEC, in Anambra State, for the Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, as well as the Orumba North and Orumba South Federal Constituency, was concluded with YPP picking both seats.

The re-run election adjudged free, fair, and credible by many observers, resulted in APGA losing its seat to YPP, while YPP also retained its seat in contention in Orumba. In Nnewi where the re-run was held in five polling units, the ruling APGA and its candidate in the re-run, Hon. Uchenna Elodimuo fully mobilized to retain the seat, but could not. In the end, Peter Uzokwe of YPP polled 25, 518 votes, while Uchenna Elodimuo of APGA polled 25, 412 votes. Therefore, Prof. Charles Nweke, the INEC returning officer for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency declared Uzokwe of YPP the winner and returned him elected.

Similarly, Hon. Chinwe Nnabuife of YPP polled 14, 416 votes to retain her seat against her closest rival, Hon. Okwudiri Ezenwankwo of PDP, who polled 13, 087 votes in the Orumba North and Orumba South Federal constituency re-run on Saturday.

The re-run election was held in five polling units across four wards in Nnewi. While in Orumba, the re-run was held in sixteen polling units in Nanka ward 1.

By this, House of Representatives seats for Anambra State are shared as follows; YPP now has two seats; APGA has three seats, and Labor Party maintains six seats.
