NewsNigeriaTaskforce Recovers Over 60 Government Assets In Plateau

The Taskforce constituted by Plateau State Government to recover government property has reclaimed more than 60 buildings, construction equipment, and vehicles in over a year of operations, the chairman, retired General Nash Yakubu, said.
General Yakubu made the disclosure while submitting an interim report to the Chief of Staff, Hon. Jerry Satmak, said the team is driven by the principle of “see something, say something.”
“Recovered assets that could not be moved to Jos are now kept at various local government headquarters, while items retrieved within the Jos metropolis have been transferred to a central parking area.
“This report is comprehensive, but the exercise is still in progress. We will proceed to other sites for additional recoveries immediately after this briefing. Each operation reveals new leads, and Plateau citizens have been very cooperative,” he said.
According to Yakubu, the approach has recorded “high success.”
Responding, Hon. Satmak lauded the team’s performance and pledged the government’s full support until the mandate is delivered.
To strengthen public participation, the taskforce has set up dedicated telephone lines and an email address for tip-offs. It also organizes regular televised briefings where citizens can phone in with questions.
