Pastor Olayinka Emmanuel of Christ Glory Church, Ilorin, has advised Christians to be obedient and celebrate Easter indoor, in compliance with the government’s sit at home order.

Emmanuel gave the advice in Ilorin on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

“With the situation at hand, we must learn to celebrate it indoors without going out merrying. Make it colourful with the members of your family.

“We are celebrating the resurrection of our Christ Jesus. But we must obey government order by staying indoor to celebrate.

“It is worth celebrating, but we need to understand the situation we found ourselves with the deadly virus. Let us respect the law for safety purposes,” he said.

The cleric also called on Christians to use the festive season to pray for intervention to end the virus.

“Let us seek Christ intervention to end this pandemic.  Let us stay indoor tomorrow and pray with one voice to wipe out the deadly virus from the face of the earth,” he said.

NAN reports that Christians around the world will be celebrating the resurrection of Christ on Sunday, April 12.

NAN also reports that the Kwara State Government on Thursday announced the total lockdown of the state as part of the effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The knockdown commenced on Friday, April 10.
