The Enugu Electric Development Company  (EEDC) has donated 60 cartons of hand sanitisers to Imo State Government as part of efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Mr. Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communications of the company led the delegation to present the sanitisers to the government in Owerri on Saturday.

Ezeh expressed the hope that the product would go a long way to assist the people in providing a sanitary facilities to prevent COVID-19 in the state.

He commended the governor for his policies and innovative ideas in addressing the issue of Coronavirus in the state.

He said the donation formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to assist the state to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.

The Chief of Staff to Governor, Mr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, who represented the governor during the presentation, commended the company for the gesture, especially in this trying period of COVID-19 scourge.

Anyaehie noted that the donation from the EEDC came at a time when the state most needed assistance from well-meaning Nigerians and corporate entities to fight the global disease.

He stressed that the time had come when everybody must face the realities about the Coronavirus disease and play by the rules to avoid the spread.

He assured the EEDC that the items would be delivered to the right people.
