NewsNigeria“I’m Single Highest Individual Buyer And Backer of the Innoson Products” ―Senator Ubah Denounces the “Innoson” Story as “fake news”

Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, representing the  Anambra South District in the Nigerian Senate came out promptly and strongly to denounce as “Fake news”, a story making waves in the social media about how he rejected Innoson vehicles in a senate committee meeting centered on procuring vehicles for the Honorable members.

The story credited by one Pastor Humphrey Eseobi of Online News Abuja among other allegations, claimed that Hon. Ubah “likened buying Innoson vehicles as a grand plan to kill him because according to him, Innoson vehicles are death traps.” But Hon. Ubah in his rejection stated that “The Senate gave out official vehicles to its members since mid-2019, which goes to show that the story lacks merit at the first instance.

In an interview with West African Pilot News (WAP) over the story, Hon. Ubah said, “When I came across the above headline last night, I laughed out hard and made a firm resolve not to respond to this infantile and laughable attempt, which of course is one in many in recent times, from opposition camps that view the ever-rising profile of the Senator with trepidation and dismay.”

WAP could neither reach the authors of the story nor verify the legitimacy of the online portal where this story originates. Hon. Ubah told WAP that he was not a member of the Appropriations Committee and therefore could not have been in any meeting where such discussions as to the choice of vehicle to buy took place. According to Hon. Ubah,  “the narratives in the article remains the childish products from the unfertile imagination of the faceless writer who even went into over drive-by also alleging that a Federal Minister Dr. Chris Ngige also made contributions and took part in a committee meeting where Senators were supposedly discussing the purchase of their official vehicles. “

Hon. Ubah attributed the basis for making up groundless allegations or compose phony stories to a chaotic political season.  “But then you look at it, politics is not for the faint-hearted. Its, unfortunately, becoming a norm once every election year is near, to see all forms of hatchet writers, crawl out of the woodworks to cast aspersions and spin tales about any candidate they see as a potential hindrance to the advancement of their Principals and interest.” He said.

About his rapport with the  Innoson’s brand, Hon Ubah affirmed that he is one of the highest, if not the highest supporters of the  Innoson Vehicles in the South East, right from its inception, and that he made all purchases from his pocket far before he became a Senator of the Federal Republic.  In fact, Hon. Uba said, “The very first car that I gave my only beloved daughter when she clocked 18years is an Innoson (IVM) vehicle which is still parked in my Lagos residence till date.”

According to Hon. Ubah, “many people may be unaware that Innoson is not only about the manufacturing of vehicles but also, deals on plastic end products like tables, chairs, etc.  And people are also aware that I have been one of their high net customers. I have silently bought tons of these products to support people in various small scale enterprises like phone call centers, community centers, and town hall-furnishings.”

Hon Ubah and the Chairman of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Co, Ltd, Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma hails from the same hometown of Nnewi and have always collaborated on matters of economic development and empowerment of the citizens, WAP gathered.

Therefore, Hon Ubah said, “to  these people who spend sleepless nights cooking up one-lie-after-another and publishing with fictitious names and accounts,  my  message is that to  you cannot stop a moving train, and neither can you stop an idea whose time has come.”

Hon Uba continued, “I am a  product of Grace and my covenant with God is to  change lives for the better and bridge the gap between the poor and the wealthy in the society, and these heavenly objectives  cannot be derailed by any mortal.”

Hon Uba thus called on the sponsors of what he described as “evil propaganda and the gullible ones used in propagating them” to desist from their evil acts.  This he said, “is the only way to  avoid the inevitable disgrace that will eventually come when their actions get exposed once the long arm of the law catches up with them.”
