The body of first Nigerian Air-force (NAF) female Combatant Pilot , Tolulope Arotile was today laid to rest at the Military Cemetery Abuja. The event was attended by scores of mourners including family members, friends, and colleagues in the military. “It is a sad moment for everyone and I do not think any body here can conveniently grant a media interview. Just know that it is a sad day for the entire country” a guest who did not identify herself told our reporter.
Just last Sunday, NAF released its preliminary report on its investigation into Arotile’s death, noting that the allegation of foul play regarding her death has no iota of truth. The NAF said the Flying Officer Arotile’s death was as a result of blunt force trauma she got on her head and significant bleeding from being hit by a vehicle. Three of her classmates in a KIA Cereto saloon car that hit her along Mando area of Kaduna, had been handed over to the Police for further investigation and they would be charged to the civil court after that. Arotile and the three classmates hail from Kogi state and were secondary school mates.
