A notorious gang head, Chief Chinedu Nwabuagha (a.k,a. Agbalusia Ngene) also suspected to be a land speculator reportedly died while five others sustained various degrees of injuries during a bloody clash between his gang and some suspected cultists on one faction, Umuogali Oba youths on the other factor.
The clash which erupted last Tuesday has continued to linger resulting in some youths leaving the community in droves over fear of revenge by the deceased’s gang that has reportedly vowed to make the community uninhabitable.
“There were lots of shootings that rented the air last Tuesday and it continued up to yesterday and the clash is still lingering” said a source.
“As the bloody clash ensued Chinedu was badly injured and taken to the palace of the traditional ruler of Oba where he was received by the Regent, Prince Noel Ezenwa, who asked the youths to take him to the nearest hospital but he died on the way to the hospital” the source continued.
The West African Pilot News (WAP0 gathered that the deceased was feared by most residents of the community as he commanded dreaded gang that forcefully lay claim to people’s land.
A resident who pleaded anonymity told WAP reporter that, “his demise was a big relief to the community.
When contacted, the President General of the community, Chief Clifford Maduwa Enendu confirmed the incident but asked our reporter to please call back later as he is at the Oba Police station over the matter as at the time.
Calls and text messages to the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Haruna Mohammed, were not replied as at the time of filing this report.
