The former Deputy Governor of Adamawa state Alhaji Sa’d MC Tahir has called on the People of Adamawa to adhere strictly COVID-19 preventive protocols to halt the spread of the second wave pandemic.
He made the appeal at the closing ceremony of three Day Capacity Building workshop organized by the First Aid Group of Fityanul Islam Adamawa held at Fityanul Islam Secretariat Sunday.
Represented by Alhaji Umar Bello Galadima, the Former Deputy Governor noted that observing the protocols of the disease will minimize its spread in the society.
He saluted Fityanul Islam First Aid Group for working tirelessly towards ensuring peace and unity in the society.
In a message, Lamido Adamawa, Dr Muhammdu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa represented by Kaura Adamawa Alhaji Mustapha Barkindo commended Fityanul Islam for assisting the people and urged them to maintain the tempo, said doors of the Emirate Council are open to assist the group.
On his part, the chairman of Yola South local government council Alhaji Salihu Malkohi appealed to the group to sensitize people on peace and unity.
In his remark, the Director-General of the group, Alhaji Salihu Suleiman, lauded the efforts of the group in Adamawa and urged them to continue to pursue both Islamic and Western education to enable them serve people better.
He appealed to the government at all levels to assist the group.
Also, the state chairman of Fityanul Islam, Sheikh Abubakar Sirimbai said the newly promoted officers were selected best on merit and urged them to be a role model for others to emulate.
Speaking, Modibbo Nana Yola said the first aid group was formed since the reign of Umar Bin Khattab and urged youths to avoid depending on the government and engage in skills that will make them self-reliant.
During the event, awards were presented to some personalities who contributed significantly to the development of the group.
