YOLA  —  Adamawa state has flagged off one hundred and fifty (150) participants on Nigeria COVID-19 action recovery and economics stimulus result area 3 data capture and field agents.

Participants will be deployed to 21 Local Governments in the state and capture the micro and small-medium enterprise that will be given grants and support in ICT.

Speaking at the event that took place at Jokems hall Jimeta, Adamawa state Commissioner of Entrepreneurship Development Mr. Iliya James assured the people of Adamawa of Government commitment to eradicating poverty in the state.

“Government solicits the support and cooperation of the potential beneficiaries of small micro-enterprises to cooperate with the agents in order to achieve the aim of the exercise and boost the economy of the state and the country as a whole”, he said.

James commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for making Adamawa the first state to indicate interest in the NG cares programme.

Earlier in her welcome address, the state coordinator, Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, Hajiya Aisha Bawa said at the end of the training the Field agents drawn from the twenty-one local governments will be fully equipped with the technical aspects of the programme for them to discharge their work effectively.

“One hundred and fifty participants are to identify the small micro-enterprise SME that are vulnerable, viable verification for the intervention which will also enhance the livelihood and economy of Adamawa small business owners”, she added.

In a remark, representative of Bank of Industry Mr. Goodness Adewale said the intervention is a World Bank-funded programme being executed in all states across the country to train and empower agents in order to carry out the Fieldwork effectively.

“The trainers would conduct beneficiaries enumerators, their details which Adamawa is the ten benefiting state of the COVID-19 action recovery and economic stimulus programme”, Adewale said.
