Following the conversation of Federal Medical Centre FMC Yola to a University Teaching Hospital, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, Senator representing Adamawa Central in the National Assembly has sponsored a bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center (FMC) to be sited in Mubi.

Recall that Senator Dahiru had sponsored the conversion of the Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola to a conventional university and sponsored another bill that will upgrade FMC Yola to a teaching hospital.

Already, a bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Center (FMC) Mubi has passed its first reading on the floor of the senate chambers on Tuesday’s plenary.
The move to establish the hospital is to meet the health needs of those far from the Teaching Hospital situated at Yola, the state capital.

According to Senator Aishatu, FMC Mubi will bring the presence of the Federal Government closer to the people, as Mubi is a cosmopolitan city and densely populated that is far away from the teaching hospital.

“I sponsored a Bill on the Establishment of Federal Medical Center, Mubi, Adamawa state. As FMC, Yola is set to be upgraded to a Teaching Hospital, Mubi is a strategic location with the second-highest concentration of population after the state capital for a brand new Federal Hospital. The Bill has passed the first reading. I am counting on your usual support and prayers”, Binani said.
