MAIDUGURI —The North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) and the Cameroonian Defence Force have eliminated four Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters on Monday at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in the Wulgo area of Borno State.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations said the soldiers foiled an attempted attack on the military base.
According to the statement, the Troops chased the terrorists after they retreated, neutralizing three with reinforcement from the Battalion Headquarters.
It added that three AK 47 rifles, six magazines and 50 rounds of 7.62mm special were recovered.
Similarly, four insurgents were killed around the 151 Battalion location on Monday.
Director Army Public Relations added that the troops are conducting further exploitation of the general area to clear surviving terrorists.
Gen. Nwachukwu further said the terrorists were burnt beyond recognition, as their truck mounted with Anti-Aircraft Guns ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
