LAGOS — Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has broken his silence on joining the presidential race in 2023.
In a podcast session with Lola Oj, the rapper said he has no plans of being Nigeria’s President.
Falz has been known for speaking against the wrongdoings of political office holders in the country and advocating for a better country.
His gesture during the 2020 #EndSARS protest made many Nigerians charge him to join a political party alongside other young agitators and vie for the office of the presidency in 2023.
However, Falz said he has no political ambition at the moment. According to him, he is just a well-wisher that wants everything to be okay in Nigeria, adding that things are upside down and need to be fixed in the country.
He said, “Being a President, I’ve never thought about it, it’s not part of the plans. I’m just a well-wisher that wants everything to be okay in this country.
“I look around me and I see everything is upside down and I don’t think we should be existing like this as a people.”
He further stated that there is an array of greatness Nigerians are expected to walk into, but we are dragging our feet.
“There’s an entire array of greatness we’re supposed to walk into, but we’re dragging our feet, that’s the problem.”
