Human rights activist and politician, Senator Shehu Sani has made a satirical statement that seems to be mocking the Nigerian government over its interest in the Russian-Ukraine crisis while bandits are ravaging lives and property in Northern Nigeria.
The security situation in Nigeria is deteriorating. Northern Nigeria is bleeding with rapacious bandits attacking, killing, and abducting hapless people. The trending news every passing day is the killing of innocent people by bandits, who have continued to sack communities, kill and abduct poor villagers with relative ease.
More people are dying in Nigeria on a daily basis due to insecurity than in the Russian-Ukraine crisis. Yet, instead of addressing the ugly situation, the Nigerian government is more obsessed with carrying the deaths of Ukrainians in the ongoing crisis on their head and declaring solidarity with them.
Senator Shehu Sani took to his official Twitter account to mock the Federal Government for its negligence of the goings-on in the country while trying to quench the fire in another man’s house.
His post read, “If I say I want to move to Ukraine and fight, you will say I should first fight the bandits in Kaduna…na you go choose for me or na me go choose for myself the fight wey I wan fight?”
