EntertainmentMusicWizkid FC Goes the Extra Mile to Prove Davido’s O2 Arena’s ‘Sold Out’ Concert A Sham

LAGOS — Fans of award-winning Nigerian artiste,  Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, feel there is nothing to celebrate in Davido’s 02 Arena Concert.
David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido returned to London’s O2 Arena with a brand new show on March 5, 2022, after his first appearance in 2019 at the 20-000 capacity venue.
According to the management of the Arena, the tickets to the much-anticipated We Rise By Lifting Others (WRBLO) concert were sold out as of Thursday, March 3. They tweeted, “@davido has officially sold out at #TheO2 #DavidoatTheO2.”
To celebrate the return of Davido back in London, the organizers of the show renamed the arena after the Nigerian pop singer – The  O2 to The Davido 2 – for Saturday night.
Davido performed his hit songs from ‘Dami Duro’ to ‘Champion Sound’ at his sold-out concert. Other artistes who performed at the show include Pheelz, Adekunle Gold, Popcaan, Ckay, Skiibi, Stonebwoy, Victory, and Mayorkun and South African rapper, Focalistic, and many more.
The show saw the likes of Nigerian celebrities and fans travelling all the way to London for the concert.
However, fans of Wizkid, known as Wizkid FC, who were waiting to draw comparisons between the singer’s show to that of other A-list artists, particularly Wizkid, at the same venue, feel there is nothing to celebrate in Davido’s achievement.
According to them, the O2 Arena that took Davido five months to sell out is the same one Wizkid sold out in two minutes on September 2021.
They went the extra mile to provide screenshots of empty seats at the arena during the show, claiming that Davido only paid the management of the O2 to tweet about him selling out the arena.
