To further enhance security surveillance, the Kano State House of Assembly Wednesday approved an N10bn loan request by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras on the state roads.
Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Speaker of the Assembly read the letter at the plenary Wednesday seeking the approval of the house.
According to the letter sent by the governor, the project became necessary due to the alarming rate of insecurity in the North West.
Ganduje said the loan was for developing Optic Cyber and installing CCTV cameras in all strategic locations within the metropolis and headquarters of the five emirate councils among others.
He added that the loan payment schedule included a tenor of 10 years inclusive of a 12-month moratorium.
