Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has picked the Vice Chancellor of the Adamawa State University (ADSU), Prof. Kelatapwa Farauta, as his running mate in the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Director-General, Media and Communications to the governor Fintiri, Solomon Kumangar, who confirmed the development said, “It is confirmed that his Excellency, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has picked Prof. Farauta as his running mate.”
Farauta will replace the incumbent Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, who is from Lamurde local government area, both in the Southern senatorial zone of the state.
Professor Kaletapwa has been the Vice-Chancellor of ADSU since she was appointed in that capacity in February 2020.
Previously, she served as Chairman of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) and then as Commissioner for Education.
She had earlier been a lecturer at the Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola.
Farauta, who was born on November 28, 1965, in Numan, Southern Adamawa, is married with children.
