In a bid to check the activities of kidnapers, the operatives of the Oyo State Security Network, also called Amotekun Corps, has thwarted a kidnap attempt of a Chinese man working on a site at Ayanma area, along Egbonron village, in Iganna town in Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
The operatives foiled the kidnap attempt on Tuesday in partnership with local hunters in Iganna town, following a tip off from one of the vigilantes working at the site.
Report has it that the Amotekun operatives swung into action following the tip off., and after a gun duel with the kidnappers, men of the security outfit overpowered the abductors and killed one of them while two of the kidnappers were later arrested and four escaped with gunshot injuries.
It was learnt that one AK-47 rifle was recovered. The corpses and other items recovered from the abductors have been handed over to the police.
