In what looks like he was not satisfied with activities of local and International Non-Governmental Organizations during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections held on 25th February, 2023, the Adamawa state government has suspended activities of NGOs throughout the state till 15th March, 2023.
Governor Fintiri in a statewide broadcastTuesday at the Government House Yola, saying the suspension became necessary, alleging that the NGOs’ have become involved in politics thereby compromising their services to the people of the state.
“NGOs engaged in vote buying, hiding under guise of rendering humanitarian services to the people which compromise the whole essence of their services to the people in the state” he said.
Fintiri lauded the political maturity exhibited by the citizens throughout the period of the elections, appealed to all and sundry to remain calm and wait for the final pronouncement of the Presidential results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
