Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor, the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, has promised civil servants in Lagos State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of better welfare condition if elected the state governor in the forthcoming governorship election.

The governorship candidate assured that no government worker would be victimised and the existing agencies of the government would be retained and strengthened to deliver on the people-focused policies of his government.

Jandor debunked the campaign of calumny making the round that he has plans to scrap the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, (LASTMA), Vehicle Inspection Agency (VIO), Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LAASA), and other agencies of the government if he becomes the governor.

Gbenga Ogunleye, Head, Media and Communications, JANDOR4Governor Campaign Organisation, in a press statement on Monday, condemned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for intimidating civil servants in the state to vote for the party against their wish.

Jandor denied reported cases of threatening of workers in the state and alleged directive issued to heads of government agencies and parastatal to monitor their staff and dismiss those who refuse to comply with the plan to ‘vote and show’.

According to the statement, Adediran reiterated that the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly election will have no effect on the voting pattern in the forthcoming March 18 gubernatorial election.

The PDP governorship candidate  stated that the non-Yoruba speaking residents of Lagos State who voted en bloc for the Labour Party because of their preference for its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi are traditionally supporters of the PDP in the state and they have expressed their readiness to vote the party again.

Jandor also revealed that the Lagos youths who have been yearning for a change in government in the state owing to the inhuman treatment of the End-SARS protesters have got an ally in him to end the reign of the APC and install a truly independent governor who will not be tied to the apron string of any godfather.

The candidate encouraged eligible voters to troop out and exercise their franchise without any fear of harassment from the APC sponsored political thugs. And they should continue to endure the remaining days of the outgoing government as they anticipate a breath of fresh air.
