The Adamawa State House of Assembly during plenary on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman as the substantive Chief Judge of the state.
Justice Hapsat Abdulrahaman has been in an acting capacity as Chief Judge since September 2022 following the retirement of the former Chief Judge Justice Nathan Musa.
Also confirmed during the sitting are Grand Khadi, Sharia Court of Appeal Hon. Ibrahim Wakili Sudi, and Hon. Audu James Balami as the President Customary Court of Appeal respectively.

The confirmation of Justice Hapsat as the female CJ in the history of the state, Grand Khadi, and President Customary Court of Appeal is contained in a letter forwarded to the Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for consideration.
Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo moved for the confirmation as requested by the Governor when the letter was read on the floor of the House by the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas then directed the clerk to prepare a clean copy of the resolution of the House to the Governor for further action.
