The Enugu State Police Command has arrested, arraigned, and remanded two male suspects for stealing 26 water tanks in Orba community, Udenu Local Government Area in Enugu state.
The suspects Chiegeonu Eze aged 22 and Obinna Ezeugwu aged 23 were arrested with the assistance of citizens at Amube-Ohum in Orba community; both men specializes in stealing water tanks mounted in construction sites in the community.
The Enugu State Police Command Public Relations Officer DSP Daniel Ndukwe in his Twitter handle revealed that luck ran out on the young men while attempting to steal 2 tanks from another site in the community in the early hours of Sunday 23rd April 2023.
While the 2 tanks and 7 more others were recovered from them upon arrest, their confessional statements led to the recovery of 17 other tanks from their cohort and the receiver of the stolen tanks; however, the receiver of the stolen tanks is still at large.
Eze and Ezeugwu have been arraigned in court and remanded in Nsukka Custodial Centre for further hearing.
