The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, has authorised the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to arrest Seun Kuti, the son of the late musician and political activist, Fela Kuti.
The order was disclosed in a statement released yesterday by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.
Adejobi said the order was owing to a viral video of the singer assaulting a police officer in uniform.

Adding that the IGP also wants the matter investigated, Adejobi noted that such acts will not be tolerated.
“The IGP has equally ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly,” the statement reads.
“IGP Usman Alkali Baba assures Nigerians that acts of contempt/disdain for symbols of authority will not be tolerated while offenders of such hideous crimes will be surely brought to book.”
