The Aaje area of Ogbomoso in Oyo State on Wednesday witnessed tension when some hoodlums suspected to be members of a gang known as “Wahala n paniyan” attacked the area, injuring scores of residents and destroying valuables such as cars, houses and shops.
Report has it that the boys stormed the town at about 1:45am with cutlasses and dangerous weapons vandalising valuable property belonging to residents.
While confirming the incident to journalists, the Aaje of Aaje Oba Sunday Ademola said the hoodlums had previously attacked the area some weeks ago, adding that their demands were unknown.
“We don’t know what they really wanted,” Oba Ademola lamented.
Oba Sunday said the “Wahala n payan boys” also attacked Oje Ladanu, Oja Oba and Onpetu palace.
The monarch called on the Oyo State government to come to the rescue of residents in the area to forestall future attack.
