The eighth edition of the Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, reality TV show will premiere on July 23 as an “All-Star” show, with housemates from the seven previous editions.
In a press briefing in Lagos on Friday, the organisers announced a cash prize of N120 million for this year’s winner.
Busola Tejumola, executive head of content and West Africa channels for MultiChoice Nigeria said, “We have done seven seasons, and for the eighth edition, we feel it is the best time to bring everyone who has been on the show back for an opportunity to win N120 million.”
In addition to the head-of-house challenges, arena games and other sponsored tasks, Tejumola said the forthcoming edition will feature a new game, the black envelope game.
She added that 30 fans would be eligible to win N1 million each.
John Ugbe, chief executive officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, said that fans of the show would, as in the past, decide which of the housemates to be evicted.
He noted that it had been a busy year for the company but promised a bigger show for this year’s edition of BBNaija.
