For refusing to tender an apology to the Muslim community over the “disrespectful” snippet of a music video he shared on his Twitter page on Friday, a group of irate youths set an advert billboard of Davido on fire in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The video, a snippet of the visuals for “Jaye Lo”, the first single by his newly-signed artist, Logos Olori, shows a group of Muslims observing prayers outsde a building while Lagos Olori sits on the roof singing.
Davido came under attack for sharing the video which was said to be insulting to Islam, and he deleted it.
But that did not suffice for the Muslim community as they are demanding an apology from the singer which led to the burning of one of his advert billboards in the densely-populated city of Maiduguri on Tuesday.
Davido should apologize let end this.

In other news, the Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, weighing in on the matter, has called on the Department of State Services, DSS, to “invite both men (Davido and Lagos Olori) for questioning to explain why they chose to produce and promote a musical video capable of igniting anarchy in Nigeria.”
MURIC also asked the National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC and National Film And Video Censors Board, NFVCB, “to immediately ban the insensitive musical video.”
The group noted that “Davido and his signee have no modicum of respect for the faith of Islam” and that the “video is a mockery of Muslim spiritual life and practice.”
