In fulfilment of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State campaign promises to allow women the chance to contribute to the building of the state, 131 women appointed into various political positions.
Spokesman to the governor, Mr Bologi Ibrahim, in a statement said Governor Bago had congratulated the appointees and called on the appointees to be dedicated and contribute their quota to the success of his administration’s policy thrusts.
The statement read in parts: “Following the appointment of these great women into his government, it’s on record that the Niger state government is one of the states that has appointed a large number of female aides into his government”.
According to the statement, 41 of the appointees were to serve as coordinators, and 90 would serve as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
