Over the weekend, two officers of the Labour Party paid a courtesy call on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in his home in Nnewi, Anambra State. It would be recalled that in 2013, senator Ubah contested for Anambra State Governorship Election on the platform of Labour Party. Although now a member and the leader of the Young Progressive Party, senator Ubah’s influence extends to both Labour Party and APGA, both of which he has been a member, and both of which are likely to be on each other’s neck in the next Anambra State governorship election.
Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s meeting with the leaders of Labour Party which held behind closed doors, might not be unconnected to the upcoming Governorship Election in Anambra State, in about a little over two years time.
For now, it is not exactly clear who is standing with whom and in what party, but what is easily discernable is that in 2025, All Progressives Grand Alliance- APGA, Labour Party-LP and Young Progressives Party-YPP, will significantly shape the outcome of the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, irrespective of how it may turn out or who finally takes the day.
