…confirms CBN deputy governor nominees
The Nigerian Senate has screened and subsequently validated the nomination of Olayemi Cardoso as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
Cardoso resumed as the CBN governor in an acting capacity last week after his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
During his screening on Tuesday, Cardoso said he would implement measures to ensure the stability of the naira.
The upper legislative chamber also confirmed Emem Nnana Usoro, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, Philip Ikeazor and Bala Bello, as deputy governors of the apex bank.
Cardoso and his deputies will steer the affairs of the CBN for the next five years.
