President Bola Tinubu has rescinded his earlier appointment of Imam Ibrahim Kashim Imam as the chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA.
The withdrawal of Imam’s appointment is with immediate effect, presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale said, via a statement, on Thursday.
24-year-old Imam was on October 13 appointed to head the FERMA board “for a renewable term of four years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007.”
He was appointed alongside 11 others into the executive committee of the agency.
The appointment of others remains valid. In Ngelale’s words, “All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.”
Imam’s replacement has yet to be announced.
