The Governorship Electoral Petition Tribunal on Saturday, dismissed the petition filed by APC Governorship candidate in Adamawa, Sen. Aishatu Dahiru Binani against Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of PDP.
Sen. Binani filed a petition challenging the declaration of Fintiri as Governor of the state in the 18th March, 2023 Governorship election.
In the petition, Binani, joined INEC, Fintiri and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), alleging that the election was not conducted in compliance with the electoral act.
In her judgement, the Chairman of the tribunal, T. O. Uloho, dismissed the petition and affirmed the election of Governor Umaru Fintiri.
Recall that on April 18, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Governor Umaru Fintiri winner after a supplementary election.
In the rerun, Fintiri of PDP polled 9,337 votes, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of APC scored 6,513 votes.
At the end, Fintiri polled 430,861 votes, and Binani got 398, 788 votes.
